Long time friends, Chicago/Amsterdam-based percussionist Frank Rosaly and Parish have crossed paths out on the road and shared many bills together over the years. Here they have finally stepped into the studio together to produce “Labrys”, an homage to Goddess culture and the Divine Feminine. Parish paints mythopoetic narratives with his nylon stringed guitar, while Rosaly conjures elements with light skittering, textured, micro-events.
"Their improvisations thrive on contrasting tones and dynamics, but even when it seems like they are playing in parallel rather than with each other their attunement manifests in splendid complementarity."
